Perseverance…
The theme of March at my daughters school is Perseverance. At home we’ve been talking a lot about it and how it applies to learning anything. My daughter is 5 1/2 years old and at that age learning just about anything is hard.
She takes a gymnastics class and after class we were talking and she mentioned how hard it was. I asked her if all of it was hard and she replied, “only the new stuff“. That says a lot…thing are only hard if you haven’t learned to do them.
Just like gymnastics learning magic tricks can be difficult for a kid…until they learn them. But learning magic tricks can teach your kids perseverance, and that quality can stick with them for life. If we quit the first time we tried a magic trick or anything and it was difficult we’d never learn to do anything.
Personally as a professional magician and variety performer I am constantly learning new things. Some things I pick up quickly somethings take work…but the things that I put a lot of time into learning are the things that I’m most proud of when showtime comes around.
Hopefully when your kids learn magic tricks from the Amazing Magic Kit they not only learn magic tricks, but they learn about perseverance!
