You kid has a magic kit…now what?
So you might be wondering how you can get the most out of your magic kit once you’ve given it to your kid.
The first thing they need to do is watch the DVD that came with the Amazing Magic Kit to pick a few tricks that they’d like to learn first. Limiting it to two or three tricks at the beginning is a good idea. You don’t want your kid overwhelmed with trying to learn all the tricks at once.
Next encourage them to practice the magic tricks that they’ve selected to learn. A good general rule when learning magic tricks is to practice them to where they can do them 10 times in a row without messing up or forgetting how the trick works.
Now that your kid has practiced a couple of the magic tricks from the Amazing Magic Kit, they need to show them to someone (that’ll probably be you). When your kid shows you a trick that they’ve been practicing, you should be a nice and encouraging audience. I’ve seen parents after some of my magic workshops be horrible audiences…telling the kids how bad of a magician they are. You don’t expect your kid to be able to play the piano after a few hours of practice and you shouldn’t expect them to be a master magician after a few hours. Giving constructive advice is OK.
